Shiksha Niketan celebrates 29th Foundation Day

JAMMU, Feb 20: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar celebrated its 29th Foundation Day cum Prize Distribution Function at School premises, here today.
Radhika Sohan (BDO), Megha (CA) and Suruchi Mahajan (Bank PO) were the special guests, whereas ID Soni (Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides), Sehaj Singh (senior member Bharat Scouts and Guides) and Jeet Singh (Sports teacher) were the guests of honour.
Neeru Puri Principal of SD Tara Puri Public High School, Vivek Chauhan Principal of Oriental Academy, Shiv Rattan Pandotra Principal of Shiva Public High School, Gagandeep Patwari, Rita Mengi trustee of RM Public School, Ravinder Kour Principal of RM Public School, Kiran Gupta In-charge of Shiksha Niketan, Gandhi Nagar were present on the occasion.
The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by welcome dance was presented by the students of class 3rd primary wing and the Vandana was performed by the students of class 4th of primary wing. Various cultural performances including dance style of Dogri, Punjabi, Ladakhi and Kashmiri were presented by students of middle wing. Thereafter, the students of high – wing performed the classical Bharat Natyam and Gidda.
All the cultural items were performed on the theme of “Unity in Diversity”.
The special guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious students who had excelled in academics and various competitions held at School, District and National level.
All the special Guests in their speeches lauded the efforts of the Principal and his team for making the School J& K’s No.1.
The Principal gave a brief description about the students who excelled in different fields. A total of Rs 1,40000 prizes were distributed among the meritorious students of class 8th, 10th and 12th who outshined during academics session 2019-20.
