Shawetica, Shivani, Mrityunjay honoured

JAMMU, July 10: Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier trekking organization in the state honoured its General Secretary, Shawetica Khajuria and two international sport climbers Shivani Charak and Mrityunjay Sharma in a simple function at its office, here today.
While Shawetica Khajuria officiated as a Judge in the Bouldering World Cup the two sport climbers were part of the Indian sport climbing team for this global competition which concluded at Navi Mumbai recently.
While interacting with the members of the Tawi Trekkers Shawetica Khajuria, who was a part of the technical team in the last world cup also, said that it was a the first time that two climbers and a judge from J&K were selected for the world level competition. It is indeed a big honour for the club and our state.
Shivani Charak, the youngest participant in the World Cup, who had earlier been deputed to three European countries for a 4 weeks specialized training on world class climbing walls in Switzerland, Slovenia and Italy, was however, in a jubilant but determined mood.
Mrityunjay Sharma who was selected for the World Cup after he narrowly missed the selection for the Asian Youth Championship at Singapore, was humble about his performance in the World Cup.
Advisor of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Prof Lalit Magotra lauded the efforts of the Association for promoting climbers.
