KATHUA, Dec 25: Shabnam Cricket Club, Hoshiarpur and Akshay Star Kohli Cricket Club (ASKCC), Kathua registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing 6th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first match played today, Shabnam Cricket Club, Hoshiarpur defeated Rudar Cricket Club Delhi by 19 runs in a close contest.
Earlier, Shabnam Cricket Club, Hoshiarpur won the toss and chose to bat first to set a target of 145 runs in 19.4 overs.  Love Kumar top scored with 56 runs in 43 balls, with the help of 7 boundaries and 2 sixes. Akshay Tayagi of Rudar Cricket Club, Delhi took 3 wickets by conceding 33 runs in his 4 overs. Rudar Cricket Club, Delhi could not chase the target and managed to score 126 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Rahul of Shabnam Cricket Club took 3 wickets by conceding 25 runs in 4 overs. Love Kumar who scored 56 runs in just 43 balls was declared man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a trophy.         .
In another match,  Stadium XI  Kathua won the toss and decided  to bat first and set a target of 99  runs in  18.3 overs.  Arvind scored 31 runs in 38 balls, while Ishtaq contributed 26 runs in just 23 balls with the help of  3 boundaries and 1 six. Vijam Panchal took 3 wickets by conceding 26 runs in his 4 overs. Akshay Star Kohli Cricket Club Kathua chased the target easily in 13.2 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Sultan Ansari, who scored 38 runs off just 19 balls was the top scorer. Mayank of Stadium XI Kathua took 2 wickets by conceding 13 runs in his 4 overs. Sultan Ansari was declared as man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a trophy.
