SFC-A lifts Auricrown 7 ‘A-side Football Champions Cup title

JAMMU, Oct 17: Sainik Football Club-A (SFC-A) lifted Auricrown 7-A-side Football Champions’ Cup-2021 trophy by defeating Star Football Club by 2 goals to nil at Sainik Football Ground, Sainik Colony, here today.
Some superb moves by Akshay and Dushyant of the Sainik FC have broken the defence of Star FC repeatedly leaving the opponents no time or technique to recover. The match was evenly poised till the whistle blew for the half time and it was the ability to convert a couple of opportunities into goals that finally decided the game.
Akshay was awarded with man of the match, while Parth Koul was declared as the man of the tournament and Rishabh Dogra was the top scorer who clinched five 5 goals during the tournament.
After an early morning rain, the match for 3rd and 4th place was played between Shaheen Football Club and Avengers Football Club on a wet ground, but with an undoubting enthusiasm, Avengers Football Club made the most of its skills to score 4 goals and remained at 3rd place leaving the opponents no time or technique to score even a single goal.
Kulbir Singh, Commandant 18th Battalion of IRP was the chief guest of the final match, who distributed trophies among the winner and runner-up teams and other awards, whereas Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, Powergrid, was the guests of honour and Vikas Bhargav of Kreeda Bharati (Principal, Bhargav High School, Gadigarh) was the special guest on the occasion.
Other dignitaries including Jagmohan Sharma, Bhupesh Gupta, MD Radisson Blu, Gurdeep Singh, Er Surinder Kumar AEE, JKPDCL, Om Prakash Bhuria and others were present during the closing ceremony.
The 7-day long tournament was organized by Auricrown Private Limited in collaboration with Sainik Football Club, in which 32 teams of Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur districts participated, whereas tournament was sponsored by Powergrid, Radisson Blu, Gulati Oils Pvt Ltd., N-tromers, M/s Kamal Traders and Sheela Jewellers.
The programme was anchored by Manik Sharma.
