Seven Star Cricket Club lifts Police T20 Cricket Tourney title

RAJOURI. Sept 15: Seven Star Cricket Club thrashed Sky Lark Cricket Club in the finals and lifted the title trophy of the Police T20 Cricket Tournament at District Police Lines ground, here today.
During the match, Sky Lark Cricket Club after winning the toss elected to bat first and scored 106 runs in 19.4 overs. Sultan Ahmad was the highest scorer with 24 runs.
In reply, Seven Stars Cricket Club chased the target in just 16 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Waseem Raja who scored 34 runs off 22 balls was declared man of the match.
Mohd. Asif who scored 60 runs and took 12 wickets in the tournament was declared man of the series.
On the valedictory function, MK Sinha, DIG Rajouri Poonch range, was the chief guest, who distributed prizes to winners, runners up, Man of the match, man of the series and other participating players.
DIG while speaking said that Police would leave no stone unturned to provide a platform to the youth of this State in sports and cultural activities.
SP Rajouri, Mubassir Latifi in his address said that in the coming days Police would organize more sports events in different parts of the District in Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball and Wrestling.
The 13 days long tournament was organized by J&K Police with the objective of harnessing the talent of youth in sports, under Civic Action Programme.
