JAMMU, May 24: The Senior Open Swimming Championship 2025 was inaugurated at Jodhamal Public School Swimming Complex by chief guest MLA Bahu, Vikram Randhawa. The event is organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Swimming Association, led by President Ramandeep Singh Soodan and General Secretary Bharat Kumar Sharma, with support from Arti Kuthiala, Owner Trustee of Jodhamal Public School. Pooja, Competition Director, ensured smooth coordination.
Over 40 male swimmers from across Jammu and Kashmir UT, including departments like J&K Police, competed. In the second half, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, attended as guest of honour and distributed prizes. Selection trials for the 78th Senior National Aquatic Championships 2025 at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, Odisha (June 22-26) were also conducted in presence of parents, coaches and officials including Babita Rani (Joint Secretary), Amita Arora (Vice-Principal) and school staff. Remaining events, including female categories, continue tomorrow from 10:00 am.
