Semis position cleared in Hockey J&K UT Championship

JAMMU, Feb 12: Semi-final line up has been drawn in the ongoing Hockey J&K UT Championship 2020 at KK Hakhu Hockey Astroturf Stadium, here today.
Now in the last four stage, Jammu Blue will lock horns with Jammu Red and Poonch will take on Baramulla at the same venue tomorrow
The championship (Men) is being organised by Hockey J&K and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The motto of the tourney is ‘Say no to banned drugs and substances ‘.
The first match was inaugurated by Parvinder Singh, Deputy Vice President HDFC.
While speaking on the occasion, he said our organization intends to promote hockey in J&K through Hockey J&K.
Varinder Sharma, In-charge of Sports Training Centre, Government of India was the chief guest of today’s 2nd match, Aman Sharma accompanied him.
In the first match, Poonch defeated the Ganderbal by securing 11 goals to 0. Agrim Raina scored goal in 6th minute, Navjot Singh scored 3 goals in 10th, 15th, and 59th minutes, while Sanjiv Kumar scored goal in 16th minutes, Salib Raina scored 2 goal in 22nd and 59th minutes , Jagmeet Singh scored goal in 29th minute, Matinder Pal Singh scored 2 goals in 35th and 47th minutes, Mukesh Kumar scored 2 goals in 50th and 56th minutes for Poonch. Whereas the rival team Ganderbal failed to open account.
In 2nd match, Jammu Red outplayed Ananatnag with a margin of 4 goals to 0 with Gurjit Singh scored goal for Jammu Red 20th in minutes, Hridey scored goal in 40th minute, Navjot Singh scored goal in 57th minutes and Karandeep scored goal in 60th minutes of the games for Jammu Red .
In 3rd match, Baramulla gave tough fight to Hiranagar and match ended in a goal less draw and Baramulla declared winner on better goal average.
In 4th match, Jammu Blue defeated Kathua in well contested match by a margin of 6 goals to 1. The 1st goal of match was scored by Satvinder Singh for Kathua while Gurpreet Singh scored leveller in 6th minutes and 10th minutes for the Jammu Blue, Manish scored 2 goals in 9th and 58th minute, Sarabjit Singh scored in 24th minutes whereas Surya Malik scored goal in 59th minutes of the game for Jammu Blue.
The today match officiated by umpires included Brajesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Salim, Manish Kumar from the Hockey India with the help of technical team members included Gurmeet Kour, Anjali, Talib Hussain.
Prominent among others presented during the event were General Secretary, Hockey J&K, Tara Singh, Rajinder Singh Kuku, Rajiv Sharma, Gurdip Singh Sarangal, Azad Wani and Angat Singh.
