JAMMU, Feb 22: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing Football Tournament, being organized by 66 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal at Parade ground, here.
The teams which have sealed berth in the last four stage include Young Rovers, Shaheen Football Club, Churchill Brothers and Param Football Club.
Earlier, in the first match played today, Jammu United defeated Param Football Club by (4-0) in an easy contest. However, Param Football Club, which was playing under protest, was declared the winner by the jury of the organizing committee as they found that Jammu United had violated the rules by playing footballers who were not in the official list. Thus, Param FC made it to the semifinals.
In another match, Shaheen Football Club thrashed Christian Stars by five goals to nil (5-0) and also qualified for the semifinals.
Now, in tomorrow’s fixture, Shaheen Football Club will lock horns with Param FC in the first semifinal and Young Rovers will take on Churchill Brothers in the second semifinals at the same venue.
