Inter-College Sports Festival 2020

JAMMU, Feb 18: Semifinals line up has been drawn in men’s Football event in the ongoing inter-college Sports Festival 2020 Zone-A comprising district colleges of Jammu and Samba underway at GGM Science College grounds, here today.
The teams qualifying for the last four stages are Government Degree College (GDC) Kunjwani, MAM College, GGM Science College and Government SPMR College of Commerce.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals round, GDC Kunjwani defeated GDC Khour 5-0 (Umar two goals in 4th and sixth minute; Suraj 16th minute; Keshav 33rd minute) and Aakash 38th minute).
In another match, GGM Science College got walkover GDC Nagrota while SPMR College of Commerce trounced GCET Jammu 2-0 (Manveer 22nd minute and Ishan Khanna in 44th minute).
The matches officiated by the technical penal including Suresh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Vijay Kumar and Abhishek Chandan under the supervision of Gagan Kumar.
Meanwhile, on day-2 of intra-zone Jammu-Samba Sports Festival, Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar defeated GDC Akhnoor by 2-0 (25-10, 25-12) in the first semifinal of Volleyball, while in the second semifinal, GCW Parade defeated GDC Khour by 2-0 (25-10, 25-01).
In Kabaddi (M), Govt SPMR college won the match from GDC Samba by 10 points, while in other matches MAM college defeated GDC Jindrah by 24 points; GDC RS Pura won the match from GDC khour by 2 points; GDC Akhnoor got walkover against GDC Ramgarh; GDC Kunjwani won the match by 13 points by defeating GDC Bishna and GDC Paloura drubbed Govt SPMR College by 12 points.
In kho-kho (M) tournament, GGM Science College won the match from GDC Marh by 11 points; GDC Jindrah defeated GDC Khour by 3 points; MAM College outplayed GDC Kunjwani by 1 point and GDC RS Pura got walkover against Govt SPMR College.
In knockout matches of Kho-kho (W) GDC RS Pura won the match from GDC Vijaypur by 1 point; GGM Science College defeated GDC Akhnoor by 1 point and an innings; GDC Jindrah won by 3 points by defeating Govt SPMR College and GDC Bishnah defeated GDC Ramgarh by 9 points.
Meanwhile, the Cricket tournament got underway at MA Stadium, here. The event was declared by Physical Director of GGM Science College, Dr Vinod Bakshi.
In the first match of the day, GDC Kunjwani defeated GDC Jindrah by a margin of 19 runs. Mohd. Owais remained top scorer with 39 runs. From GDC Jindrah, Manhoar took three wickets. In another match, GDC Akhnoor outplayed GCET by eight wickets. The match officiated by the technical penal including Suresh Singh, Ashok Singh, Vijay Kumar and Sadiq Hussain.
The Volleyball competition is being hosted by Government SPMR College of Commerce on the campus courts under the guidance of Physical Director, Malik Aijaz under the overall supervision of College Principal, Prof RS Jamwal.
The Results: GDC Kunjwani bt GDC Khour 2-0 (25-21, 25-11); GDC Akhnoor bt GGM Science College 2-1 (25-19, 20-25, 16-14); GDC Marh bt GCET Jammu 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-10); GDC Samba bt GDC Kunjwani 2-1 (18-25, 25-17, 15-11); GDC Jindrah bt GDC Vijaypur 2-0 (25-10, 25-14); GDC Paloura bt GDC Nagrota 2-0 (25-15, 25-14); MAM College bt GDC Ramnagar 2-0 (25-10, 25-22). The competition officiated by the technical penal including Rajesh Virdhy, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Bhavana Sharma, Amandeep Sharma and Parvinder Singh.
