JAMMU, July 30: The newly appointed Secretary of State Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, has ordered the suspension of three Sports Council employees posted in the personal section of the Secretary Sports Council’s office.
The three officials namely Naveen Kumar Gautam, Senior Assistant, Jahangir Mir, Computer Programmer and Shaukat Ahmed Shah, Assistant Store Keeper wide Order No 504 of Sports Council 2016, dated 28-7-16 have been placed under suspension pending enquiry into the disappearance of official files from the office pertaining to purchases and recruitment.
As per sources in Sports Council Srinagar office, the former Secretary of the Council, Jawaid Shah who was unceremoniously sacked and attached with GAD by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, in her capacity as President of the Sports Council after reports of malpractice surfaced in the working of the sports body, before relinquishing charge arrived at the Sports Council office in early morning of very next day of his sacking and unauthorizedly took away many important documents and files with him in connivance with officials of the personal section before the new Secretary, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, assumed the charge.
Sources said as the matter came in the light of the new Secretary, he acted sternly and suspended three officials of the Sports Council who reportedly helped the former Secretary, Jawaid Shah in taking away the files from the office of Sports Council and ordered an enquiry against them.
However, when contacted, the new Secretary denied that any such order has been issued by his office.
