JAMMU, May 23: Secretary Power, Government of India inaugurated ‘Power Cup 2022’-a T-20 Cricket tournament, hosted by NHPC every year at NMAKP Sports Complex Jamia, New Delhi, today.
The ‘Power Cup 2022’ is being organized amongst teams from various power sector CPSUs under the Ministry of Power/ MNRE.
Secretary Power, Alok Kumar inaugurated the tournament in presence of AK Singh, CMD, NHPC, Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, BBMB, PK Das, CMD, IREDA, AK Mishra, CEO, EESL, RP Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC and other senior officers from participating organizations.
Teams of the Ministry of Power, NHPC, NTPC, POWERGRID, CEA, IREDA, REC, EESL and PFC are taking part in this tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary extended his good wishes to all the participating teams of the tournament. He further said that sports provide an ideal platform for building up team spirit and camaraderie amongst the Ministry of Power and Central Power Sector PSUs.
AK Singh, CMD, NHPC extended his gratitude to the Secretary (Power) for sparing time from his busy schedule and encouraging all the players taking part in the tournament. He further said sports is an excellent way to develop all round development of both mind and body which improves work efficiency in the long run.
In the inaugural match of the tournament which was played between Ministry of Power and NHPC wherein the former emerged winners by 5 wickets.
