SCC defeats Knight Watchers in JPL

JAMMU, May 22: Singh Cricket Club (SCC) defeated Knight Watchers CC by 2 wickets in the ongoing Jammu Premier League (JPL), organised by Army’s White Knight Corps at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, here today.
Batting first, Knight Watchers gave a huge target of 201 runs by losing only 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of Sumit Sharma’s unbeaten knock of 96 runs off 63 balls along with Rajan Kotwal’s 30 runs and Panda’s 38 runs, whereas Somil Raina contributed 11 runs. From the bowling side, Manav and Arush Jamwal took 2 wickets each, while Rohit Singh claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club chased the target easily in the 19.4 overs by losing only 8 wickets and registered 2 wicket win over Knight Watchers CC. Atul Gupta made unbeaten 78 runs while facing only 40 balls with 7 fours and 5 maximums, while Arush Jamwal and Daksh made 29 and 22 runs respectively and Abhinandan and Rohit Singh contributed 18 and 10 runs respectively.
From the bowling side, Somil Raina was the wrecker-in-chief who took 3 wickets in his four overs’ spell, whereas Kartik bagged 2 wickets and Rajan, Koushang and Akash Reshi claimed 1 wicket each.
