*JU lifts overall trophy

JAMMU, Mar 17: University of Jammu repeated history by lifting the overall trophy of the ‘SAUHARD’ Inter-University Chancellor’s Trophy-2023 for Men and Women, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at University of Jammu, here today.
Rajinder Sharma, Mayor Jammu was the chief guest on the valedictory-cum-prize distribution function of the event, while Prof. Umesh Rai Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra Directorate of Distance and Online Education and Ranjeet Kalra Member Sports Council along with a large number of gathering of dignitaries, players and officials of the participating universities were present during the event.
The chief guest congratulated the organizers for organizing such type of sports events, which will provide an opportunity to the students of the various universities to come closer to each other besides showing their sports talent. He also appreciated the mass participation of the players and officials accompanying their teams at the various universities.
Prof. Umesh Rai, also addressed the gathering with his remarkable thoughts and inspiring ideas about sports and lauded the efforts of the whole team of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education for organizing this mega Event.
Earlier, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presented a welcome address and report of the tournament in which he briefed about the conduct of the whole event particularly the first-time participation of the contingent of the Directorate of Distance & Online Education University of Jammu.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr. Komal Nagar, I/c Assistant Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Mandeep Singh, Assistant Prof. Directorate of Sports & Physical Education.
Prof. Suman Jamwal, Dr. Jaspal Singh Warwal, Dr. Imran Farooq, Dr. Rohni Suri, Dr. Vikesh Sharma, Dr. Heena, Dr. Rajveer Singh, Dr. Jatinder Singh, Dr. Rajnish, Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Ajaz Malik, Randeep Karlia, Dr. Arjun Singh, Dr. Saranpreet Brocca, Neenu Naryana, Neelam Chalotra, Vimal Kishore, Padam Dev Singh, Jai Bharat, Vikas Karlopia and others were present during the event.
