*District Kathua lifts Judo title

JAMMU, Aug 24: Inter Zonal District Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports in various disciplines were played at different venues.
JAMMU: On the 3rd day of ongoing Inter Zonal District Level Cricket Tournament for under-19 boys, being played at GGM Science College ground, Satwari Zone defeated RS Pura Miran Sahib Zone by 16 runs and registered berth in the semis of the tournament.
Batting first, Satwari Zone scored 83 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 15 overs. Harmohit Singh and Pavit Singh scored 23 and 20 runs respectively.
Inderpal Singh and Rakshit of RS Pura-Miran Sahib Zone took 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
While chasing the target, RS Pura-Miran Sahib Zone was bundled out for 67 runs by losing all wickets in 13.4 overs. Gagan Jot and Sahil scored 13 and 10 runs respectively.
From Satwari Zone side, Harsh, Rahul Mehra and Anurag took 3 wickets each.
The first semifinal between Jammu and Satwari Zone and second semis between Jourian-Khour and Akhnoor-Chouki Choura will be played on August 26 at the same venue.
KATHUA: District Kathua registered win over District Jammu in the Inter District Division Level Tournament in the discipline of Judo for under-19 boys, which was played at Sports Stadium, here.
In under-40 kg category, Mohammad Gafoor of Kathua crushed Simranjeet of Jammu, in under 45-kg, Sheersh of Jammu trounced Mushtaq of Kathua, in under-50 kg, Anirudh of Kathua beat Aman Chib of Jammu, in under-55 kg, Bagh Hussain of Kathua thrashed Hartik of Jammu, in under-60 kg, Mridul of Jammu defeated Vishavjeet of Kathua, in under-65 kg, Mohammad Yunas of Kathua smashed Aryan Gandotra of Jammu, in under-71 kg, Akhil of Kathua crushed Udhav of Jammu and in open (above 71 kg) category, Shafi Din of Kathua defeated Sajan of Jammu.
