Sarla scores power-packed fifty, but J&K loses to Hyderabad

JAMMU, Mar 1: Jammu and Kashmir skipper Sarla Devi scored quick-fire fifty but it was not enough to save her side from the defeat against formidable Hyderabad in the Senior Women’s T20 Cricket League at MBB Stadium, Agartala.
Earlier, put into bat, J&K scored a decent total of 95 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Sarla top scored with magnificent unbeaten 53 runs off 51 balls, studded with 2 fours and six massive sixes. Bismah Hassan contributed unbeaten 16 runs off 39 balls with 1 boundary. Jaspreet Kour also contributed 12 runs off 16 balls with 3 boundaries. Sarla especially was on her punishing best, sending the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt by hitting the ball with grace and fluidity.
From Hyderabad, Bhogi Shravani took 2 wickets, while Anitha K and Rachna S Kumar claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Hyderabad chased the target easily in 14 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Himani Yadav scored unbeaten 44 runs off 38 balls including 4 fours and one six, while Ramya and skipper Mantha Kanojia contributed 24 and 13 runs to the total respectively.
From Jammu and Kashmir, Bismah Hassan bagged 2 wickets while Qousar Jabeen claimed 1 wicket.
With this win, Hyderabad earned 4 points, while J&K failed to secure any point.
