JAMMU, May 23: Two days State Bench-Press Power Lifting Championship in Men and Women categories, organized by J&K Sports Power Lifting Association concluded at RKM Gym, Upper Gummat, Kanji House, here today.
The aim of the Championship is to select players for the forthcoming National Bench-Press Power Lifting Championship to be held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand from September 7 to 12.
On the valedictory function, Samant Singh Jamwal was the chief guest, who awarded the winners of the Championship by presenting trophies, medals and certificates in presence of General Secretary of J&K Sports Power Lifting Association, Rajan Jain and other members of the Association.
In the Championship, more than 150 power lifters across Jammu and Kashmir including Srinagar and Leh vied for the titles.
In the Championship, Sandeep Kumar was declared as Power-Man, whereas Surmeet Kour Soni adjudged as Power-Woman of J&K State for the year 2016.
Apart from this, in women category, Surmeet Kour Soni, Achint Kour, Irvinder Kour, Vandana Rajput, Mahima Gupta and Neha Badyal secured gold medals.
In men category, Ankush Bhatia, Shubam Manhas, Vikramjeet Singh Chib, Kewal Krishan, Vishal Manhas, Pankaj Chib, Sandeep Kumar, Akhil Mehra, Ikhlaq Choudhary, Sandeep Kumar, Dinesh Manhas, Jagbir Singh, Vikramjeet Singh, Pawan Kumar, Ankush Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Bhaskar, Raza Rabani, Vijay Choudhary, Divya Surya Jamwal, Tarun Dev Singh, Rohit Singh Jamwal and Vishal Rakwal clinched Gold medals.
The Silver medals were won by Tarlok Singh, Saksham, Karan Pagotra, Shivam Gupta, Pankaj Chib, Karan Dogra, Gourav Tak, Ishan, Vikas Singh Manhas, Kewal, Aslam Choudhary and Nageshwar.
Sam and Sahil Koushal secured Bronze medals.
