Samba XI scripts thrilling 2-run win over BRSCC; lifts title

SAMBA, Feb 27: Registering a thrilling 2-run win over Brig Rajinder Singh Cricket Club in the summit clash, Samba XI lifted the title trophy of the ongoing Inter Panchayat Block Level cricket tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services an Sports in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Samailpur Cricket Stadium, here.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Kiran Jyoti was the Organising Secretary of the Tournament.
Chairman Block Development Bari Brahmana, Rajni Devi was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
Iqbal Singh, Coordinator of this cricket tournament and District Coordinator Rajeev Sharma were present on the occasion. Sarpanch Smailpur Balwant Singh Manhas was also present on the occasion
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Samba XI scored a modest total of 124 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Brig Rajinder Singh Cricket Club, in reply managed to score 122 runs to lose the match in a close contest by 2 runs.
Radhaysham of Samba XI was declared as the man of the match for scoring 37 runs off 38 balls, studded with 3 fours and one six.
