Samba XI beats Gurha Slathia by 7 wkts, wins title

SAMBA, Dec 19: Samba XI trounced Gurha Slathia by 7 wickets in the finals and lifted the title of Suresh Singh Memorial Cricket Cup, played here today.
DDC Member Sudarshan Singh was the chief guest, while Harmesh Singh Slathia PDP District president, Pankaj Slathia (Social worker) and Sarpanch Jitendra Singh Makhanu were present during the event.
A total of 22 teams participated in the tournament and the final match of the tournament was played between Samba Cricket XI and Gurha Slathia.
Batting first, Gurha Slathia’s team scored 99 for the loss of 10 wickets in 20 overs. Sumit Slathia scored 32 runs, while Rishav scored 14 runs. From the bowling side, Romi took 4 wickets, whereas Rahul got 2 wickets and Rahil and Anchit Mahajan took one wicket each.
In reply, Samba XI chased the target by losing 3 wickets in the 12th over. Mahajan made 36 runs, Bhpinder Singh Lucky scored 32 runs and Mukesh contributed 16 runs.
Achant Mahajan was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance, while Rahil was adjudged as best bowler and man of the series award went to Sumit Slathia.
