Samba Police organizes Sports Mela

SAMBA, Apr 20: Continuing with the J&K Police’s endeavour to strengthen Police-Public relations and to promote sports activities among the youth, District Police Samba today organized Sports Mela under the Civic Action Programme at Youth Sports & Services Stadium, Arazi here today.
Kabaddi, Badminton, Volleyball, Cricket and Hockey Tournaments are part of the Mela.
Joginder Singh, SSP Samba invited the senior citizens present on the occasion to declare the Kabaddi Tournament open.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba said that organizing such Civic Action Programme by J&K Police is to create awareness among the youth regarding the eradication of social evils and evil designs of the Anti-Social elements by participating in such sports activities. He stressed that youth are the future of our country and we have to give them the opportunities and platform to show their excellence.
Raja Aadil Hamid, Additional Superintendent of Police, Samba also welcomed the participating teams and advised all the players to maintain sportsman spirit during the said tournaments.
Virender Singh, DySP HQ Samba, S S Sambyal, SDPO Vijaypur and other prominent/senior citizens of District Samba were also present on the occasion.
The tournaments in other games viz Badminton, Volleyball, Cricket & Hockey shall be held from tomorrow.
