SAMBA, Aug 20: Samba zone emerged overall champion by winning both U-19 Boys and U-19 Girls finals against their rival teams in Inter Zone District Level Cricket competitions of district Samba.
The competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports Office, district Samba under the direction of Director General and overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj at Arazi Stadium, Samba.
Total 112 players (49 Girls and 63 Boys) from all five zones participated in the competitions. The tournament was started on August 19.
In Under 19 Boys final, Samba zone defeated Ramgarh zone by 2 wickets. Earlier, in first match Vijaypur zone beat Ghagwal zone by 3 wickets while in 2nd match, Ramgarh zone thrashes Purmandal zone by 30 runs. In 3rd match, Samba zone trounced Vijaypur zone by 2 wickets.
Sagar Kumar who scored 46 runs and took 5 wickets was declared as man of the tournament. Vishal Thappa was declared as best batsman while Vishal Naroo was declared as best bowler of the tournament.
In Under 19 Girls final, Samba zone beat Ghagwal zone by 1 wicket. Earlier, in 1st match Ghagwal zone defeated Vijaypur zone by 9 runs.
