SAMBA, Aug 3: Samba District Weightlifting Association organized the Samba District Weightlifting Championship 2024-25 at the Indoor Sports Hall, Samba Stadium today. The championship featured youth (Boys/Girls) and senior (Men/Women) categories, with enthusiastic participation from across the district. Supervised by the J&K Weightlifting Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, the event was a significant platform for emerging talent.
Senior BJP leader and Samba District Incharge, Thakur Narayan Singh, served as the chief guest, while former District President Amar Singh was the special guest. They awarded medals, certificates, and trophies to the winners, encouraging them to pursue their passion in weightlifting.
Singh highlighted the potential of rural athletes and the importance of providing them with proper platforms to excel. The event was supported by coaches and officials, including Naman Singh and others.
