Samar drubs GNCC by 7 wkts, faces New Challengers in Holi Cup summit clash

JAMMU, Mar 27: Riding on a splendid all-round performance by Amritpal Singh, Samar Cricket Club (SCC) defeated Guru Nanak Cricket Club (GNCC) by 7 wickets in the semifinals today, to lock horns with the New Challengers Cricket Club in the summit clash, the date for which is yet to be decided.
Earlier, batting first, Guru Nanak Cricket Club scored a modest total of 128 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rahul Gorkha top scored with 42 runs, while Sunny and Rimple contributed 23 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For Samar Club, Amritpal was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 4 overs, while Kamal Kishore and Aman bagged 2 wickets each and Monu Sharma claimed one.
In reply, Samar Club chased the target in just 13 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Amritpal Singh top scored with 38 runs, while Jagteshwar Singh contributed with 37 runs and Monu Sharma chipped in with brisk 20 runs. Balbir took 3 important wickets for GNCC. Amritpal Singh of Samar Club was adjudged as man of the match for his superb all-round show.
