Samar Cricket Club outplays HNCC in Holi Cup

JAMMU, Mar 21: Samar Cricket Club defeated Hind National Cricket Club (HNCC) by a narrow margin of 15 runs in a high scoring match of Holi Cup Cricket Tournament, being played at Mandal cricket ground, here.
Batting first, Samar Club scored a mammoth total of 183 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of one wicket. Amrit Pal Singh top scored with magnificent 82 runs off 49 balls, studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Jagteshwar Singh scored 62 runs off 51 balls. Anchal took the lone wicket to fall.
In reply, HNCC managed to score 168 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Punnet, Neeraj and Honey scored 41, 28 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Samar Club, Amrit Pal, Raman Singh and Kamal Kishore took 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Virender Singh and Gulshan Kumar as umpires, while Sachin Singh acted as scorer and Sohan Bharti commentator.
