Salman will remain goodwill Ambassador: IOA

   NEW DELHI, June 29: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) today clarified that Bollywood actor  Salman Khan will continue as Goodwill Ambassador for the Rio Olympics even after his recent controversial remarks on rape analogy which created hue and cry. However, the association said it was his personal opinion. Asked upon Salman’s recent controversial remarks, IOA Joint secretary  Rakesh Gupta said, “It was his personal opinion, IOA has nothing do do with it”.

 “We will stick to our commitment and Salman will remain as Goodwill Ambassador for the Rio Olympics.”, he added.

 The actor had made shocking remark of feeling like a ‘raped woman’ after the gruelling shooting schedule for  his upcoming movie Sultan to which he faced criticism from different sections of society and there were reports in media that IOA could remove the actor from Goodwill Ambassador. Meanwhile, several sportspersons like wrestler Yojeshwar Dutt and  runner Milka Singh had opposed IOA’s decision. (UNI)
