JAMMU, Dec 29: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar organised inter-school Salad making competition for class 4th students, here today.
Students of Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School Kunjwani, RMPS Chowadhi Sainik Colony and Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar participated in the event.
The objective of the competition was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among the students. The participants creativity was revealed through the beautiful designs and patterns formed with different mouth-watering salads.
The students displayed copious types of both vegetable and fruits salads including basket salad, combo salad, jumbo salad which were prepared from commonly available ingredients.
Gantavya Sharma from Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School Kunjwani got 1st position, whereas Chahat Sharma from RMPS and Anshika from Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar shared 2nd position and Abhijay from Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar and Lav Singh from Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar shared 3rd position.
The competition was judged by Ramanjeet Kour.
The participants explained the speciality of their salads and also the importance of salad with our regular diet for maintaining good health and keeping diseases at bay. The main focus of the competition was not only the preparation of the salads but also upon their artistic presentation, cleanliness, safety and presentation.
