JAMMU, April 4: Sainik School Nagrota organized a programme today to honour the eight cadets selected for the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) 154 Course and their parents.
The cadets selected for the prestigious course include Ikhlaq Hassan, Hussain, Pranav Sharma, Aditya Kumar Singh, Prithvi Raj Sambyal, Divyansh Bhardwaj, Piyush Sharma and Yasir Mukhtar Wani.
While honouring the parents of the cadets, an incentive amount exceeding Rs 12 lakh, received from the Ministry of Defence, was presented to them as a mark of encouragement.
The cadets selected for the NDA 154 Course represent diverse regions of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, reflecting the institution’s inclusive character and extensive outreach, and underscoring its sustained role in shaping young leaders and enabling their participation in the armed forces as part of the larger nation-building process.
During the programme, fifteen newly appointed cadet leaders for the academic session 2026-27 formally assumed their responsibilities, with key appointments including School Captain Raghav Chib, School Adjutant Uday Kumar, Sports Captain Adarsh Kumar Tiwari, Cultural Captain Ishan Parihar, and Band Captain Utkarsh Vivek.
The cadets took the oath of office, committing themselves to uphold the values, discipline, and traditions of the institution, in the presence of parents, staff, and fellow cadets.
Principal Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia highlighted the role of parental support in shaping the determination and character of the NDA qualifiers and underlined that leadership roles within the school serve as a strong foundation for developing confidence, integrity, and officer-like qualities.
