Sainik Colony sails to next round; enthusiastic Nainjot, Tanpreet guide NGR to register win

JAMMU, Apr 2: Sainik Colony Football Club thrashed Young Tigers and entered next round, whereas enthusiastic Nainjot and Tanpreet guided NGR to register win over Young Star by 13-0 goals in the ongoing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground today.
In the first match of the day, Sainik Colony outplayed Young Tigers by 4-3 goals via tie breaker and entered into the next stage of the tournament.
In the first half, players of both the teams played well and restricted each-other to net the goal and raise the scoreboard.
In the second half, the position remained same and the match ended with no goal despite various opportunities.
Players of both the team struggled hard to net a single goal through-out the match, but failed and the tie-breaker rule was applied, where Gagan, Sunny, Vikram and Ajay of Sainik Colony football club converted the penalty kicks into goals.
For Young Tigers side, Kaka, Tushar and Arun converted the penalty kicks into goals.
In the second match, NGR smashed Young Star by a huge margin of thirteen goals to zero in a one side affair match.
In the first half, Nainjot Singh of NGR raised the scorecard by netting the goal in the 12th minute. Enthusiastic Nainjot again bounced back and scored the goal in the 14th minute. Back to back goals by NGR brought the opponent Young Star team under the pressure of 2-0 goals.
In the 25th minutes, passionate Nainjot netted the third goal of the match, while as Tanpreet of NGR scored the goal in 29th minute and raised the scoreboard to 4-0 goals.
The players of Young Star failed to score even a single goal and the first half ended with 4-0 goals. The yellow card was shown to Honey of Young Star club in the 31st minute in the first half.
In the second half, a self goal was scored by Young Star in the 36th minute, whereas Dhanjay of NGR netted the goal in the 45th minute.
After the sixth goal of the match, Tanpreet of NGR bounced back and netted the seventh goal of the match in the 47th minute. Tanpreet again finding a gap scored another goal in the 51st minute and brought the opponent team under the pressure of 8-0 goals.
Adoring Tanpreet of NGR with his good foot work scored the goal in the 55th minute and in the 57th minute Nainjot again proved his mettle and netted the goal and raised the scorecard to 10-0 goals.
After the 10th goal of the match in the 57th minute, Honey of NGR smashed the goal in the 58th minute. In 60th minute, Arshad of NGR scored the 12th goal of the match and in the 65th minute, Nainjot Singh again with his enthusiastic skills scored the thirteenth goal of the match.
Through-out the match, the players of NGR restricted Young Star players to keep the ball in their kitty for long time, which proved fatal for the latter as they lost the match by a huge margin of thirteen goals to zero (13-0).
The matches were witnessed by Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Rohit Kumar, Rajesh Sumberia and Narinder Gupta.
The matches were officiated by Harmanjeet Singh, Pankaj Kumar, Tushar Heer, Tanpreet Singh, Moon Stephen, Ricky Kumar and Rinku Gill.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Sports will clash with New Bharat in the first match and JK Bank Academy will lock horns with Churchill Brothers in the second match.
