UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: Sahil thrashed Anish in the finals and lifted Sub Junior Boys Singles title of District Table Tennis Championship organised by District Table Tennis Association under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association and J&K Sports Council, at Badminton Hall, Mini Stadium, here today.
In sub junior boys double category, Sahil and Shivam beats Pankaj and Vikas, whereas, in junior boys double category, Sunny and Kanav trounced Ankit and Tarun.
In senior boys singles, Ankit outclassed Rohit Paul, whereas, in sub junior girls singles, Muskan defeated Ria.
In junior boys singles, Ankit routed Sunny, whereas, in senior girls singles, Rohini beat Meshally.
In senior boys doubles, Sunny and Tarun thrashed Ankit and Kanav.
On the valedictory function, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur, was the chief guest, who distributed medals among the winners and runner-ups in presence of Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director, Department of Youth Services and Sports, Paramjeet Singh, Principal, DIET, Kud, Yash Paul Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer, Sukh Dev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sunil Sharma, President, District Table Tennis Association, Vinod Baru, general secretary, Rajiv Dogra, Coach, Sports Authority of India, other members of the association and sports lovers.
While speaking, Balwant Singh Makotia appreciated the efforts of the organizers and also threw light on the importance of sports in day-to-day life.
He said that sports plays pivotal role for the overall development of body vis-à-vis physically and mentally.
The matches were officiated by Sanjeev Kumar, Tarun Magotra, Vikrant and Ankit Sharma.
