SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Sahara Hockey Club Srinagar and Uplina Hockey Club Baramulla sealed berths in the final and will take on each other in the summit clash of the ongoing Open State Hockey Championship, being organised by Hockey J&K at Gindun Stadium, Raj Bagh and Polo Ground Hockey Field, here.
The Championship is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Sahara Hockey Club Srinagar defeated Anantnag Hockey Club in a close contest by three goals to two (3-2), while in another semifinal, Uplina Hockey Club Baramulla got the better of Kashmir Hockey Academy by two goals to one (2-1).
Ali Mohd, veteran Hockey player was the guest of honour, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Asima Ali, Talib Hussain, Gurdial Singh, RGN Wani, Gudeep Singh Sangral, Mohd Amin, Avtar Singh and Sameer Ahmad.
