Ruthless Warriors, Black Panthers, Shree Champions sail to next round

JAMMU, Sept 23: Ruthless Warriors, Black Panthers and Shree Champions crushed rivals in their respective matches and sailed into the next round of Night Cricket Tournament, which commenced at KC Sports Club ground, here.
The tournament is being organized by Shree Batra Group with a view to keep the employees of Group fit and to enhance their creativity.
The first match of the tournament was played between Ruthless Warriors and Road Runners. Batting first, Ruthless Warriors scored 46 runs in 8 overs. Anil Kumar and Rahul Khajuria made 18 and 12 runs respectively. From Road Runners side, Rehan and Aman took 2 wickets each. In reply, Road Runners failed to chase the target and bundled out at 30 runs in 7.5 overs.
The second match was played between Thunder Birds and Black Panthers. Batting first, Black Panthers made 65 runs in 8 overs. Paramjeet was the top scorer with 41 runs. From Thunder Birds side, Suresh took 2 wickets. While chasing the target, Thunder Birds made 52 runs in 8 overs. Suresh made 26 runs. From Black Panthers side, Varun was adjudged as best bowler.
The third match was played between Shree Champions and Shree Loins, in which former registered win by 17 runs.
In the tournament, six teams are taking part. Prior to the launch of the event, the teams availed night facility of indoor practice at KC Sports Club. They put in a lot of net practice in the hall and sharpened their skills in batting and bowling to prepare themselves for the matches. With the participation of six teams, the League will continue till November on weekend days.
