BARAMULLA, Dec 5: A Volleyball tournament was organised under the aegis of Headquarters 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles/ Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo), which concluded here today.
The tournament was conducted with an aim to give platform to budding players of the region to showcase their talent.
A total of six teams namely Jagjit Club, Juhom Club, Iqra Club, Samsher Punch, Takia Batpura Club and Kunjar Club participated in the tournament which was played on knockout basis.
The final match was played between Iqra Club and Samsher Punch at 52 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Headquarters at Uplona, wherein Iqra Club won the match by of 3-2 sets.
The event culminated with prize distribution among the winners, runners-up and all the participating teams.
The event was attended by a number of officials from civil administration, civil dignitaries and local youths.
The locals appreciated the efforts of Indian Army for holding the event in abefitting manner and requested to organise similar tournaments in future for positive engagement of youth.
