JAMMU, Sept 21: Working president of Roll Ball Association Jammu and Kashmir, Shah Omar along with international players including Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sareen today demanded appointment of outstanding players under SRO-349.
It was demanded by the outstanding players of Roll Ball and office bearers of the Association while addressing the media persons at here wherein Captain Roll Ball Rakshak Jandiyal was also present.
They urged upon the UT Administration, Principal Secretary and Secretary Sports Council to include Roll Ball games in the appointment of outstanding sports person rules under SRO-349 of 1998 and SRO-376 of 2004.
Omar further stated that this game is popular in schools, colleges and universities and its national body is recognized by the Government of India in the year 2013. “This sport is a regular feature in the calendar of activities of SGFI, AIU and is being played in around 40 countries across the globe and in the country it is being played in more than 22 states,” he asserted.
“In the J&K around 800 players are associated with this game. Number of players from Jammu have won medals at National level competitions and had represented the country at international level,” they said.
