JAMMU, Dec 22: RN Tagore Higher Secondary School, Sector-8, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, celebrated its 36th Annual Day amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation at Abhinav Theatre, here.
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister was the chief guest on the occasion, while Vikram Randawa, Member of Legislative Council was the guest of honour.
Surjeet Singh, Corporator Ward No-43 and Jaideep Sharma, Corporator Ward No-22 were the special guests on the occasion. Rameshwar Singh Manas, President Jammu Kashmir Private School Co-ordination Committee and Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, Working President JKPSCC presided over the function.
Chairperson of the school Vishno Devi, Principal Hitesh Mahajan, Co-ordinator Pallvi Gupta, Heads of various Institutions and other esteemed members of the society were also present.
The function started with the lightning of the ceremonial lamp by chief guest, guest of honour and other dignitaries.
Then floral tributes were paid to the founder of the school, Late Mulkh Raj Guptai, followed by bouquet presentation by Principal Hitesh Mahajan and other In-charges of the school to various guests.
Saraswati Vandana was presented by the students of high wing which gave an auspicious start to all the programmes.
An enthralling welcome dance was presented by tiny toddlers of the school.
The entire auditorium reverberated with the energy and superb theatrics of the actors through an array of dances viz. Superman, Nigerian, Chin Chun, Jungle dance, Patrotic, Vishnu Avtar, Rajasthani Folk, Dogri, Kashmiri and ladakhi folk and Punjabi Kidda and Bhangra.
The apex part of the programme was the presentation of Mime on the topic “Save Water Save Life” and was intended to make children and general public aware of the issue.
Earlier, Co-ordinator of the school, Pallvi Gupta presented welcome address. It was followed by the presentation of annual report by the Principal Hitesh Mahajan.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Kavinder Gupta appreciated the efforts of the school in providing quality education and moulding the kids into all round characters at this young age.
Aarti Devi, Tania Verma, Majida, Akansha Tiwari, Sukurti Sharma and Deepali Sharma received the trophies from the chief guest for securing positions in class 12th, 10th and 8th respectively during session 2017-18.
