RM Public School celebrates Sports Day

JAMMU, Jan 24: RM Public School celebrated Annual Sports Day with pomp and show, here today.
The celebration started with the lightning of the sacred flame by the dignitaries including Anil Goswami, former Home Secretary of India, Vikram Randhawa (MLC J&K), ID Soni (State Commissioner Scouts & Guides) and Col Chouhan (11 Grandier).
Earlier, the dignitaries were welcomed by the Chairman of the School, Rameshwar Mengi, the Trustee Rita Mengi, the Principal Ravinder Kour, Rakshan Mengi (Director SNJN) and the Administrator Surinder Singh.
Students Anshul and Samreen were also members of the welcome party.
All the guests and invited dignitaries took the salute of impressive March Past coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.
As the day unfolded, the spectators were a witness to a vibrant display of sports, cultural and recreational activities.
The Pre-Primary section enthralled the spectators with their skilful activities like Matsogi, Bend knee, count the marbles, etc trained by PHE teachers Simranjot Singh, Vipen, Bittu Kotwal, Savita, besides other teachers Anju Choudhary, Meenu Sharma and swarn Kour.
Students presented a variety of cultural items including Aerobic dance choreographed by Ajay Kumar, Himachali folk dance choreographed by Varun and Komal and Bharatnatyam prepared by Shilpi.
The students who were honoured on the occasion included Antarpreet, Prabhjot Singh, Arham Wani and Hiyan Gupta of class 3rd, Nahira Fatima, Avneesh Kour and Harpreet Singh of class 4th, Harsimran Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Chahat Rajput and Manroop of class 5th and Avleen Kour of class 2nd. .
The day ended with the vote of thanks given by the 5th standard students, followed by National Anthem.
