SRINAGAR, Mar 24: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) is all set to host Namdhari FC in its first home match of the season at the TRC Ground on Wednesday in the newly rebranded India Football League.
The league, organised by the All India Football Federation, will witness its maiden fixture in Srinagar, marking a significant milestone for football in Jammu and Kashmir. RKFC, the only club from the Union Territory in the competition, had played all its previous matches away from home.
Club owner Arshad Shawl and head coach Ishfaq Ahmad expressed confidence in the squad, which includes a balanced mix of local, national and foreign players. The return to home turf is expected to provide a crucial advantage.
Assistant coach Masood Maqbool said the team’s preparations have been strong and players are focused on delivering a solid performance while staying relaxed under pressure. Meanwhile, player Shahid Nazir described the match as crucial and urged fans to come out in large numbers to support the team. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.
