NEW DELHI, May 15: Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the Online Taolu National Wushu Champio-nship in a unique opening ceremony today.
The Minister congratulated Wushu Assoc-iation of India for this historic 1st Online Taolu National Wushu Championship in india which commenced today and will conclude on May 18, 2020.
He applauded Wushu athletes and coaches for the wonderful performance in the World Championship and Asian Games and assured full support for their better performance in the upcoming Youth Olympic Games and Asian Games.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the Secretary General IWUF, Zhang Qiuping for his support to the Wushu Association of India.
Dr.Narinder Dhruv Batra ,IOA president and president IHF was all praise to Wushu Association of India.
He appreciated the efforts of Bhupender Singh Bajwa, President WAI for taking Wushu sports in India to new heights.
He urged Union Sports Minister for earliest plan for the preparation of the India team for 2022 Asian Games.
Zhang Qiuping Secretary General of International Wushu Federation was the special guest on the occasion. He congratulated Wushu Association of India for this historic event.
He also thanked Union Sports Minister and IOA President for the patronage.
Earlier, Mr Bajwa presented welcome address, while Jitender Singh presented vote of thanks.
The wushu athletes across the country presented the online demonstration during the ceremony which was applauded by the dignitaries.
The president of the Wushu Association of J&K Vijay Saraf congratulated J&K Wushu team and their coach Kuldeep Handoo for the participation in the Online National Wushu Championship.
