JAMMU, Jan 21: Rehbar-e-Khel (Physical Education Teachers) staged protest demonstration outside BJP Headquarter Trikuta Nagar under banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Forum, here today.
Around 20 to 30 protestors came from all districts of Jammu and Kashmir to stage protest here regarding their long pending demand such as two years probation period at par with other Union Territories of the country and hike in monthly salaries.
“However, we had announced 48 hours continued protest outside the BJP headquarter but called off today afternoon after the assurance of BJP general secretary, Dr DK Manyal,” said Deeraj Salaria- Overall In-charge of the Forum.
Salaria further said the BJP general secretary assured that the demands raised by them would be resolved as soon as possible and also would be raised before the Lieutenant Governor soon.
The protestors were raising slogans throughout the protest such as we want justice and reduce probation period and hike their salaries.
Dheeraj Salaria while talking with media persons said that they have knocked every door of the Administration for their genuine demands but nobody gave heed to their matter so far. “Our children are facing starvation and we are not in a position to arrange proper bread and butter for our kids,” he added.
“We are given Rs 100 per day and Rs 3000 per month which is sheer violation of Minimum Wage Act, which has not been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir depriving the educated youth of their genuine demands,” he added.
