Reasi Zone Inter-School Tournament concludes

REASI, May 11: The Inter-School Tournament of Reasi zone concluded with an impressive valedictory function, here today.
The tournament, which had got underway with the inauguration of boys’ section events yesterday with Arshad Choudhary, District Treasury Officer Reasi as the chief guest, concluded today with events in girls section, wherein Rajesh Baru, Naib Tehsildar Reasi was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Baru highlighted the need to give boost to the girl child in the interest of the society and the role that the medium of games and sports can play in the wholesome development of personality of an individual.
In all, 707 boys and girls drawn from 36 Government and Private Institutions participated in the event with great zeal, zest and enthusiasm.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Dr Swaran Singh Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi, at Government Higher Secondary School Reasi.
Principal BHSS Reasi was the chairperson of the tournament.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vipan Sharma, Dara Singh, Brij Mohan, Madan Lal Sharma and other faculty members.
Meanwhile, in volleyball Under-14 boys, HS Baghdar beat Amba Kids Panthal by 2-0 sets and the set scores were (25-14, 25-22), while in Under-17 boys, HS Kambal Danga trounced HSS Panthal by (2-0) sets (25-17, 25-15).
In kho-kho Under-14 boys, HS Nomain got better of HS Aghar Jitto by 4 points (10-6), while in kho-kho Under-17 boys, HS Nomain drubbed HS Kambal Danga by 12 points (17-5).
In kabaddi Under-14 boys, MS Seela scripted a narrow win over Amba Kids by (24-23), while in Under-17 boys, HS Baghdar beat HS Kambal Danga by (47-15).
Meanwhile, in girls section, kho-kho Under-14 event, Amba Kids beat HS Nomain by 3 points (5-2), while in kho-kho Under-17 girls, HSS Panthal beat GGHSS Reasi by 5 points(14-09).
The kabaddi Under-14 girls event title trophy went to Amba kids by beating HS Ghair Mari by (14-08), while in kabaddi Under-17 girls, HSS Panthal defeated HSS Kanjli by (42-15).
