REASI, Oct 13: Reasi District Chess Championship organized by Reasi District Chess Association with the support of All J&K Chess Association under the banner of J&K Sports Council concluded here at Amba School, Panthal.
Patron of Reasi District Chess Association Ashwani Katoch was chief guest on the occasion who declared open the event. About 80 players in boys and girls categories participated in the event.
In open category, Aarav Gupta won Gold Medal while Kulveer Singh got Silver and Kaniya Raina claimed Bronze. In Junior category, Suransh Raina won Gold while Rahul Singh secured Silver Medal and Divyansh Rajput won Bronze. In women category, Simran Verma won the Gold Medal while Simran Wazir got Silver and Akshi Sharma Bronze.
All the matches were conducted as per FIDE laws of chess. Arvindu Sharma conducted all the matches with the guidance of Atul Kumar Gupta (president, All J&K Chess Association).
