SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Real Kashmir registered their first win at home in I-League after beating Indian Arrows by 2-0 at the TRC Turf Ground here today.
After suffering two consecutive home defeats against Neroca FC and Mohun Bagan in its maiden I-League journey, hosts Real Kashmir FC defeated the young side from Orissa with goals in each half.
Indian Arrows are based in Orissa and mostly comprises of young players of Under-16, 18 and 19 level footballers who played aggressively today and gave tough fight to the hosts.
The ‘Snow Leopards’ started showing their intentions right from the first whistle as they raided Arrows’ defence and it was in the 25th minute when Robertson crossed the ball into box and Surchandra Singh made no mistake in converting it into a goal.
Arrows started to play with more intensity in the second half and were able to make some chances but failed to get past through the Real Kashmir goalkeeper.
It was Bazie Armand from the home side who scored a simple header from handshaking distance into the goal in 68th minute after assisted by poster boy of the Valley Danish Farooq.
Real Kashmir which started its I-League journey with shock win over defending champions Minerva Punjab FC in Chandigarh have not been able to replicate the same result at home in three matches on home turf as the first match they were held to 0-0 draw by Churchill Brothers followed by 2-0 and 1-0 defeats at the hands of Neroca FC and Mohun Bagan respectively.
On the other hand, Arrows have lost two and registered win in one in the three matches played so far.
Bazie Armand was declared Man of the Match for his all round performance and a beautiful goal in the match.
