RCC Srinagar, Rakesh Club script resounding victories

JAMMU, Mar 8: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar and Rakesh Cricket Club registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing 2nd Kashyap Reshi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Saffron Cricket Club in association with National Conference Minority Cell at KC Sports Academy ground, here
Earlier, in the first match, Rakesh Cricket Club drubbed Young Eleven Cricket Club in an easy contest by a margin of 30 runs.
Batting first, Rakesh Club scored a modest total of 129 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajneesh was the top scorer with 27 runs off 24 balls with 2 fours and one six, while Deepak and Vicky contributed 23 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Young Eleven Club, Shamsudin was the pick of the bowlers, while Asif and Raghu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Young Eleven Club bundled out for paltry total of 99 runs, thus lost the match by 30 runs. Saleem was the main contributor with 31 runs off 26 balls, studded with one boundary and 2 sixes. Rajneesh was the most successful bowler for Rakesh Club, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 9 runs in his 4 overs, while Deepak took 2 wickets by giving away 24 runs in his 4 overs. Rajneesh was declared man of the match for his all-round show.
In another match, RCC Srinagar rode on a brilliant innings of 73 runs by Rahul Mussa and superb display of bowling by skipper Kuldeep Kumar to trounce KC Sports Club by 24 runs in a hard fought contest.
Batting first, RCC Srinagar scored a decent total of 167 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the progress. Rahul Mussa played a magnificent innings of 73 runs off 52 balls, which included 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Romy contributed 23 runs to the total. Mussa, in particular, was in magical touch and sent the bowlers on a leather-hunt in his stroke filled innings. For KC Sports Club, Vivek took 2 wickets, while Arjun claimed one.
In reply, KC Sports Club, despite some good contributions from Karan Bhat, Rohit Bhat and Sahil Bhalwal managed to score only 143 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, thus lost the match by 24 runs. Karan top scored with 39 runs off 30 balls with 5 fours and one six, while Rohit and Sahil contributed brisk 26 and 23 runs to the total respectively. Kuldeep Kumar was the wrecker-in-chief for RCC Srinagar, who captured 3 important wickets at crucial junctures by conceding just 11 runs in his 4 overs, while Dilbagh Singh, Monu and Satish claimed one wicket each. Rahul Mussa was adjudged man of the match for his splendid knock of 73 runs. He was presented the award by the chief guest, Dilawar Singh from Police Station Domana.
