DODA, July 20: Rehmat Cricket Club (RCC) Jammu and Zargar Lions J&K registered convincing victories against Friends Cricket Club (FCC) J&K and Jammu Super Kings respectively in the ongoing All India 14th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2018, being played at Sports Stadium Doda here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by 10 Rashtriya Rifles Unit Doda and J&K Bank.
Earlier, in the first match, batting first after winning the toss, FCC J&K scored a total of 163 runs by losing their 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Shivam Singh was the top scorer with 30 runs while Rahul Redhu contributed 30 runs for his team. For RCC Jammu, Sawan Manhas scalped 3 wickets while Ankit Tomar, Teena, Ankush Nagar and Nitin claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, RCC Jammu managed to score the given target in 19.1 overs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Teena top scored with 40 runs while Abhimanyu Khod contributed 30 runs for the team. For FCC J&K, Gurteej Singh grabbed 4 wickets while Deepak Bansal took 2 wickets. Teena of Rehmat Cricket Club Jammu was declared as the man of the match for his all-round performance who was given prize by SHO Doda, Inspector Manjeet Singh, Chairman Helping Hand Najeeb ur Rehman Fani, Dr Hamid Parray and Sub Inspector Firdous Ahmed.
In another match, batting first after winning the toss, Zargar Lions J&K scored 188 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 19 overs. In reply, Jammu Super Kings managed to score 128 runs in 17.3 overs, thus lost the match by 60 runs. For his all- round display, Nadeem Javed was declared as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ifroz Rather, Harish Raza and Yousuf Raza as umpires while Sandeep Kaushik acted as the official scorer.
