JAMMU, July 20: District Level Inter-School competitions of District Jammu in the disciplines of Karate, Boxing, Table Tennis Under-19 years boys and Choi Kwando Under-17 and Under-19 years boys began at MA Stadium, Indoor Complex and Stephen Public School Miran Sahib, here today.
In all, 130 boys drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District are taking part in the competitions.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the tournament is to select the teams of District Jammu for the next level of competitions.
Results: Choi Kwando U-17 (Boys) at Stephen Public School, Miran Sahib;
33-36 Kg, Vansh Sharma 1st, Vansh 2nd; 36-39 Kg, Ajay Sharma 1st, Ravi Kumar 2nd; 39-42 Kg, Kishore Saini 1st, Akhsit Gupta 2nd; 42-45 Kg, Vishal Raina 1st, Adarsh Kumar 2nd; 46-48 Kg, Akshit Choudhary 1st, Jagjot Singh 2nd.
Table Tennis U-19 (Boys) at Indoor Complex MA Stadium Jammu:
Ist Round: Model Academy beat St. Xavier School by 2-1; Ist Semifinal, GD Goenika drubbed Crescent Public School by 3-0; 2nd Semifinal, Modal Academy trounced Maharishi Vidya Mandir by 3-2.
Boxing U-19 (Boys) at Indoor Complex MA Stadium Jammu; Upto 48 Kg, Mohd Aarif; 48-51 Kg, Gourav Kumar; 51-54 Kg, Narayan Partap; 54-57 Kg, Rahul Kumar Dogra; 60-64 Kg, Shubham Choudhary 64-69 Kg, Rahul Manhas; 69-75 Kg, Akash; 75-81 Kg, Hritik Pandita and Anu Radha.
The matches were officiated by panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports.
