JAMMU, Dec 2: RCC Jammu registered a narrow victory by 7 runs over DCC Simbal Camp in the inaugural match of the 11th Bachhiter Singh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Youth Welfare Association Simbal at Government High School Ground, Simbal Camp, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, RCC Jammu scored 114 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Kaka was the top scorer with 18-ball 28 runs, while Rimpal and Prakash contributed 24 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For DCC, Gurdev scalped 4 wickets, while Bantu bagged 2. Mani and Ginni. Shared one wicket each.
In reply, DCC bundled out for 108 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Varjinder and Ginni contributed 18 runs each, while Inder and Gurdev scored 14 and 10 runs respectively. For RCC Parkash took 3 wickets, while Sarabjit and Kaka bagged 2 and one wicket respectively. Parkash of RCC was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
The tournament was inaugurated by senior PDP leader Bhushan Dogra in a well attended function.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh, PEM and Babblu as umpires, while Swarn Singh was the scorer.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Parmeet Singh Pummy, president, Youth Welfare Association (YWA), Simbal.
