JAMMU, Aug 31: ‘Stay Fit’ Badminton Tournament, being organised by the Reserve Bank of India Sports & Cultural Club got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The Tournament was inaugurated by HK Soni, General Manager, RBI, Jammu in an impressive and well attended function.
Around 50 employees of RBI Jammu are taking part in the Tournament, in which men and women singles and doubles events are being held.
In the ‘Stay Fit’ Series RBI Sports and Cultural Club has already organised Cricket, Table Tennis and Volleyball Tournaments, besides Yoga Camps for keeping the employees of RBI fit and healthy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Soni lauded the efforts of the Club and motivated the participants to play with sportsman spirit.
Prominent among other present on the occasion were Satpal Sharma, SAI Badminton Coach, Gurvinder Singh, Dheeraj Arora, Shekhar Choudhary, besides Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K State Sports Council, Satish Gupta, Manager MA Stadium.
In today’s matches, Deepak drubbed Pankaj (2-1), Bhavik beat Gurdev (2-0), Sanjay defeated Vijay (2-1), Rohan trounced Ashok (2-1), SHekhar Choudhary outplayed Ajaz Ali (2-1) and Neeraj got the better of Anuj (2-0).
