Range Police Jammu launches JKP Junior Cricket Team

JAMMU, Nov 18: In order to provide a platform to the neglected wards of police martyrs and serving personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu Range Police today launched Under-14 cricket team, comprising young players from Jammu Range districts.
This was disclosed by DIG, Jammu Range, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, here today, while interacting with young players at a simple function, organized by Range Headquarters to discuss the modalities.
DIG said that 15 junior cricketers have been selected for the junior team. The team shall be put to regular practice in various cricket academies. He said the department would arrange matches which would be conducted under supervision of professional coaches of police department in near future.
The DIG said that the jawans and officers of the force usually remain out of their homes, due to round the clock hectic law and order duties. They are not able to monitor the activities of their wards and to attend them properly. He said these steps would prove fruitful for the young generation to keep them away from the social evils.
