RAMBAN, Feb 28: To aware the people for adhering traffic rules and ensuring safe and comfortable driving, over 100 bikers from across the district Ramban participated in a 10 Km “Zindagi Nahi Sasti–Safe riding” motor bike rally which was flagged off by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Randeep Kumar from Bus Stand Ramban and culminated at Kowbagh after covering Ramban Town, Maitra Village and District Police Line Chandrog, here today.
The rally was organised under civic action programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police. On the occasion, SSP Ramban emphasised the importance of road safety measures saying that several lives would be saved if bikers wear helmets.
He said that people should strictly follow the traffic rules as these are imperative while driving on the roads besides also creating a sense of safety among the pedestrians.
Apart from other senior officers of police and civil authorities, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ramban Arun Gupta, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Ramban Rafiq Choudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic Ramban, Kameshwar Puri and Social Activist Mohammad Arif Wani, besides others were also present on the occasion.
