Volleyball tournament organised by JKSC

SAMBA, July 21: Aiming to promote sports culture among village youth, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) in collaboration with Maharaja Pratap Singh Sports Club Birpur organised a Volleyball tournament at Birpur wherein four teams participated, here today.
The first match was played between Rama Youth Volleyball Club and Dhrona Tiger Volleyball Club wherein both the teams displayed their talent but Roma Youth Volleyball Club won the match by 20-15 points, whereas the 2nd match was clinched by Maharaja Pratap Singh Sports Club Birpur who won by 3-2 sets from Kundanapu Volleyball Club.
The final match was played between Maharaja Partap Singh Volleyball Club Birpur and Rama Youth Club Kahara Madana wherein Rama Youth Club emerged winner by 3-2 sets.
The tournament was inaugurated by Vikram Randhawa, former MLC as chief guest, whereas Anil Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch Kahara Mandana was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The objective of this event was to promote sports at village level as well as to educate and motivate the youth towards sports for their betterment.
Satpal Singh, Football coach JKSC, Rajiv Sharma senior player, Vikram Krishan senior national Judo player, Tara Chand senior Volleyball player and Narinder Singh veteran player were present during the tournament.
The tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, J&K Sports Council.
