JAMMU, Dec 1: NSS Campus units in collaboration with CASH and The Law School, University of Jammu organised an AIDS awareness and Gender Sensitisation Rally in order to observe AIDS day, here.
The participants in the rally addressed the important issues of gender equality and AIDS.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic affairs, University of Jammu was the chief guest who flagged off the rally.
In her address, she congratulated the organisers of the event and stressed upon the need to hold more such events to realise the goal of socially equitable societies.
Dr Sanjay Gupta, Director The Law School, NSS Coordinator Dr Vishvaraksha; programme officers namely Dr Anju Thapa and Raj Kumar Sandhu; Prof Arti Bakshi, Chairperson CASH, University of Jammu along with Dr Rohini Suri, member (CASH) and student representatives of the committee, faculty members of Psychology and The Law School were present on the occasion.
Students of various departments participated in the Rally. Dr Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation Jammu Chapter and NSS Program Officer Law School unit coordinated the event.
