ROJOURI, Mar 23: District Police Rajouri today organized a Wrestling Competition at Koteranka, Kandi, here today.
50 wrestlers from District Jammu, Reasi, Kathua and Rajouri participated in the event.
A K Atri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range was the chief guest on the occasion. SSP Rajouri, Mubbasir Latifi was also present on the occasion.
The competition was won by Prahlad Singh Gado of Khawas who defeated Hoshiyar Singh of Kenthi, Reasi.
The wrestling competition was also held under the age group of 10, 15 and 18 years.
A K Atri presented a cash prize of Rs 5000 to the winner and Rs 2000 to the runners-up wrestler.
The cash prizes were also given to the winners and runners-up wrestlers of the age group of 10, 15 and 18 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Atri said that J&K Police is organizing these tournaments to provide a platform to rural youth for exhibiting their talent. He said that Police would groom local talent and emphasized on greater co-operation with the public.
Mubassir Latifi while speaking on the occasion said that J&K Police has led from the front in upholding the rule of law, strengthening the integrity of the nation and maintaining communal harmony for everlasting peace in these hilly areas.
